Specialising in commercial litigation across all jurisdictions in Australia, Sean regularly acts on behalf of both private and corporate clients in complex contractual and commercial disputes, business separation and shareholder disputes, and acting for and against directors in actions of breaches of directors’ and statutory duties under the Corporations Act.

Sean is committed to delivering clear, honest and outcome driven legal advice that aligns with his clients’ commercial objectives whilst remaining focused on the legal objectives. Sean is known for his keen attention to detail and ability to grasp the intricacies of each matter, allowing him to navigate the legal terrain with precision.

Sean joined the team at AJ & Co Lawyers in 2023 as an Associate and was elevated to Senior Associate in January 2024.

  • successfully acting for a director and shareholder of a renewal energy company in the Federal Court of Australia for declaratory relief under sections 447A and 447C of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) voiding the improper appointment of voluntary administrators by a co-director;
  • acting for a listed mining company in the Federal Court of Australia in defence of a claim and crossclaim with respect to the validity and issues of construction of a contractual agreement, misleading and deceptive conduct and estoppel claims;
  • acting for a property developer in County Court of Victoria in defence of claim and crossclaim concerning an agreement for a profit sharing with respect to a series of residential property developments;
  • acting for a law firm in application for interpreter orders in the Supreme Court of Queensland with respect to trust funds;
  • acting in recovery proceedings under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) for and against various insolvency practitioners;
  • acting for and advising various private clients in matters concerning shareholder and business separation disputes; and
  • acting for and advising private clients with respect to the validity and enforceability of a personal property security interest under the Personal Property Security Act 2009 (Cth).
